to Benefit Foster Care in Philadelphia
On Friday, August 11, Phillies pitcher Taijuan Walker was outside the Third Base Gate before that night’s game, where he hosted “Tai’s Tacos,” benefiting Turning Points for Children. Anyone who gave a donation to the cause received a free taco, courtesy of local food truck Burrito Feliz.

Safe

Walker, having been closely connected to people who have been part of the foster care system, has partnered with multiple foster care organizations since 2018. Turning Points for Children’s foster care program provides safe and healthy homes for more than 900 children in the Philadelphia region.
Nearly 1,000 tacos were given out during the event. Fans also enjoyed some tunes by DJ Smooth, along with surprise appearances by the Phillie Phanatic and 1993 National League champion Phillies Milt Thompson and Mickey Morandini.

Walker matched all monies raised at the event. A total of $30,000 was donated to Turning Points for Children.
